What should I do with my life?

This is my list, and here’s the key to the list:

Feel free to let me know what I should do with my life because, frankly, I’m not sure I have a clue.

Note to Robot Co-op: having something like an equals sign as the last character in a key means I can’t double-click on it in the e-mail you sent to select it and paste it into the browser window’s key field: it becomes a manual drag and select. I’m not sure how minutely you want to get into usability items at this point, but, still, it bit me.

I’d love to help you, but I’ve been looking for the same answer for some time now and I am no closer to to finding the solution.

Actually, if things pan out tomorrow afternoon with an interview, my freelance career might just take off. Cross your fingers for me!

Hey Jeremy… good call on the = sign. I’ll try to make it more clickable.

Just one of those tiny little burrs to polish off.

I’d like to help, but I’m getting the following error when I click on your link:

Application error (Apache)

Change this error message for exceptions thrown outside of an action (like in Dispatcher setups or broken Ruby code) in public/500.html

I’m not sure how common this is across all platforms, but triple-clicking will select an entire line of text, on most Win32 and *nix text editors and web browsers.

Socrates/Plato have the questions which will lead you to the answers within yourself.

Advice about yout life from an old ex-wife:

What do you want to do?

Yes, you do know! In addition to food, clothing, shelter, you want meaning, love, and significant work. What does that look like in your mind’s eye?

Write it down. Write it down again, with tweaking and 8-part harmony. Write it down a third time, taking out all the cudda, wudda, shuddas, and all the cants.

Now, do it.

I have been thinking about your situation for a little over a year now. Finally, I had an epiphany about your calling while I was submerged in an aquarium full of electric eels (psychic isolators). The answer is simple but may not seems intuitive at first:

Only you can fight wildfires.

You should be a fireman, but not the city boy kind with the red trucks and rubber pants, but an Osh Kosh wearing forest fire fighter. Remember how forest gnomes were the coolest gnomes in the coffee table book by Rien Poortvilet? Well, the same goes for forest fire fighters.

Later, you will get to ride in the helicopter and think strategically about where to drop the retardant. You will acquaint yourself with tactical earthworks. You will save peoples’ homes, pets, possessions, and lives. You will also be able to take awesome pictures of forest fires to satisfy your creativity.

Good luck!
