Forlorn Aerons

Their dot-com glory days behind them, a group of Aeron chairs gaze forlornly out of a window at the 5th Avenue traffic.

Mmmm Aeron. They’re still grossly expensive in Australia :(

Any ideas where the Tokyo Aeron Rescue Shelter is? The chair I’m using now is killing my back…

Posted by Dale Cruse   2005.06.28, 05:54

I just gave my Aeron a hug. Don’t worry, baby, I won’t let that happen to you. I promise.

I wish I had an aeron chair

Posted by Mark   2005.06.28, 09:22

Aren’t they thousands of dollars?

Posted by Jerry Kindall   2005.06.28, 15:20

Hundreds, more like. Any premium office chair (Steelcase Leap, Humanscale Freedom Chair, Nightingale CXO) is going to be in the same ballpark, $800-$1200.

They’re rather pricey in Tokyo, too. hhstyle has a basic one going for ¥137,000 (US$1,280), right up to ¥205,000 (US$1,915) for a fancier model. Can a chair really be that comfortable to justify spending nearly $2,000?!?

lil, you heathen you.

You can get a C-class (the big one) on eBay for about $650 from a reseller. That’s how I got mine. Worth every penny. If you’re tall like me, it’s an investment in the health of your back. Plus with all the pussy it will get you it literally pays for itself.

:-) you heard me.

I think they suck. We had them where I used to work - our division got them for a buck apiece when the dot com division went under. Great if you could ever get them adjusted properly for you. As soon as you did, you’d go to a meeting elsewhere in the bldg and have to start adjusting all over again.

Don’t you know about this? It’s Improv EveryWhaeron.

Felines people. Cats. Relax. They’re even comfy to curl up and nap in.

These things are rolling sculpture and a great way to help beat the summer heat.

I love mine and would not trade it for anything.

After reading t’s comment, I’m forming some very interesting mental images.

I bought two Aeron chairs three years ago (US$699 here in Korea) — one for my office, one for my home workstation. Neither chair has appreciably increased the amount of pussy I get. What am I doing wrong?

Posted by jh   2005.10.10, 17:12

Um, you have to buy them for your partner/s, too…?

Wanted to share my good fortune…I have been eyeing the Aeron for 8 months now…but being I have the salary I do, it took me a looongg time to scrap together the dollars I needed to get the chair, but I was determined…thanks to luxurychair.com I was able to get my chair earlier than expected becuz of their incredible prices. I’m so glad…I have my aeron, paid the best price ever….

I bought an Aeron by luxurychairs.com …took long time to get it…but saved a buck so I’m happy camper.

Funny thing…I bought the Aeron chair and could understand the hyper..but then i lost complete feelings in my legs! The plastic waterfall edge is a killer. I ended up switching it for a Steelcase Leap Chair..and I would bet my life on this chair. It FEELS like a HIGH HIGH quality chair. This chair does justice to the term “FULLY LOADED”…it has way more features than the Aeron. When you try to move the adjustable arms on the aerons you got to get up and move this wheely thing behind the arms (which generally gets stuck) and shove the arm down..with the LEAP the arm glides down with a push of a button WHILE your sitting. It also has an adjustable seat pan…I could go on forever…this is a chair worth spending money on…not an Aeron
